Green Screen And Favorites Issue

Tim,
There is a huge issue with putting png images in favorites. When a customer marks their favorite images then goes to order later from the favorites they are not offered background selections, even though when they marked it favorites they had already picked the background they wanted for that image.

The background selected is not saved when the image is marked favorite. And the customer is left thinking that since they already picked a background, they assume it is part of the order. What the studio receives then is an order without the background chosen, making a huge hassle having to contact the customer and asking them what background did they want just to hear that they already picked it.

Please check in to this, it has been a nightmare doing green screen with this issue.

Yes, I agree! There are several problems with the implementation of the green screen function. I have had several orders where I put in the wrong background because when the order comes to me it shows the default background (the 1st background in the table of backgrounds) as having been chosen by the client - even though they selected a different background. Because of that, I have had to re-make those orders at my expense.

If there are any photos in the favorites from a green screen gallery, it offers the backgrounds in the favorites and the first background is added automatically. Is that not happening for you? And I just tested again to make sure.

Okay Tim,
I got it!! It happens when a customer adds images to favorites, then add items to cart then decides to empty the cart and immediately goes back into the favorites. This process negates the option to pick a background and the image comes up with a white blank background. If the customer at this point adds an item, the item and image will be added without a background selected.

The glitch seems to fix itself if the customer empties the cart and does not go back to the favorites right away. If they go back to the home page then come back to favorites....all is fine. However, if they click anything on the thumbnail screen then click an image the same will error will result. THEY MUST GO OUT OF THE SCREEN INTO THE MAIN PAGE before clicking an image to resolve the issue.

See attached screenshots below. The first shot is after the cart is emptied. Notice the thumbnails are smaller then when you first go into favorites. At this point, if you click on an image, the menu comes up but no background selection option. See image 2.

Tim, Sometimes it does offer the backgrounds when viewing Favorites, but most times it doesn't ...BUT, there are two problems: (1) the background they selected BEFORE putting it into Favorites is not shown when the image is viewed in Favorites, and (2) even IF background choices are offered while viewing Favorites, if they select a background it applies that background to ALL of the Favorites. What if a client wants a different background for each different image - which is often the case. (To be clear: sometimes backgrounds are offered in favorites; other times they are not offered.)

Here illustrations of two problematic scenarios:
Scenario #1: Click on an image to enlarge it. Select a background. Click the Favorite icon. View the Favorites. The selected background is not shown. At this point, if they click on a Favorite to order it they assume that it will have the background they selected. Not so. It will have a white background. If they continue on and select a product it will be placed in their Cart with the white background. At this point they may call, but instead they usually abandon the cart. When I call them after a few days of seeing they didn't complete the order, they say something like, "It was just too complicated."
Scenario #2: Add several images to Favorites, after having chosen a different background for each. The selected backgrounds are not shown on the images in Favorites. Assuming that backgrounds are offered (which is often not the case) choose a background. It is applied to ALL of the Favorites. Assume that backgrounds are NOT offered: click on an image to order it. It will show a white background, with no way to change the background.

Paul is absolutely correct. A customer adding an image to favorites and goes to favorites immediately will not have the option to select a background. It seems that the only way to reset it is to leave the screen altogether by going back to the main home screen and clicking favorites.

Please make this issue a priority, thank you.

Ironically, I just had a client send an order that had the default background. So, as usual, I sent her a text with a screen grab and, as usual, that was not what they ordered! See picture below.

Just checking to see if there has been any progress with this issue? My season is over and I wont have any business until September, would love this issue resolved or a work around by then if possible. On a positive note, Sytist has been a tremendous help in my business and has saved me lots of money in monthly fees on sites that does not provide such custom abilities. Thank you for creating an awesome software. Keep up the great work!!

Hi Tim,

Has this issue been addresses since 2017?

I have Sytist 3.7.2.

My clients are having the same problem this year.

They select their favorites with their background choice. When they go into their favorites to order, the background is removed and all I see on my order is the image with no background. It doesn't even put the name of the background chosen on the order so I can know which one they chose.

Please let me know if there is a fix.

The background selected is saved with the favorites. I have just tested it and works fine for me. If you are able to duplicate the issue, please let me know the exact steps to duplicate.

Hi Tim,

Here are the steps I took:

1. Add photos to favorites.
2. Click on My favorites.
3. Select one of the photos.
4. Select a package.
5. Add to Cart. (Notice the thumbnail shows a black background)
6. View cart. (No background behind image)

It appears to be happening to only 1 pose packages / collections. I will email you a file to upload that will fix it.
