Uploading Keyworded Photos With Photomechanic

I have a wee glitch happening. I'm uploading keyworded photos through ftp directly from PhotoMechanic, it all works great, but if I edit any details on a photo in Sytist and save, it strips the tags from the photo. It's quicker for me to re-upload the photo than to attach tags in Sytist.

HI,

I just tested this as I too upload my images after keywording them with PM.

I tried adding a tag and removing a tag (keyword) - and there was no problem. I then added a title to the image, and all the keywords were stripped out of the image :-(

regards

Still very usable system though huh, just need to be sure no typos in the title or caption that you need to edit in Sytist!
Just a useful FYI for Tim.

I don't use the Titles/captions on a day to day basis, just the keywords so that people can search for their photos at large events that I've uploaded. I keyword large events in PM as it's so much faster than Lightroom for that (and I use some keyboard macros in addition to the basic unctions). I then manage everything after the keywording in LR.

I'm sure it is an easy fix for Tim :-)

I see what is happening. When editing a photo, the tag options aren't actually showing until you click the "Select from existing tags". So when it saves, it isn't posting the tag data (from some changes I made a couple of years ago I believe).

What you can do for now, until I fix it, is if you need to edit a photo, just click the "Select from existing tags" link so the tag options are actually displayed then save.
