Booking Notifcation Email Not Received

I created a new booking page today for my sports teams.

It seems to be working fine, but I am not getting Booking notification emails when someone makes a booking.

Another booking page I have set up for headshot sessions is working fine. I am also receiving Sytist test emails just fine.

When I check the Sytist email log, the messages are there, but they do not show up in my email (Google based) nor in my Spam folder.

Any ideas? Why only these emails? I haven’t confirmed if clients receive their confirmation emails.

Thanks in advance.

John

If it is in the email log then it was sent like every other email. The issue will be between the server and your email program. You can have your host trace the emails.

So I did call GoDaddy and of course they dont see any sort of problem.

As a test, before I called them, I unchecked the box Autoconfirm with No Deposit to see if that made a difference.

Almost an hour later I DID get the email.

When GoDaddy tested using the same booking form, emails were delivered within a minute or two.

After the call with GoDaddy I went back into Sytist and re-checked the Autoconfirm with No Deposit box and did another test. Within a couple minutes, the client gets an email confirmation, but I get no booking notification email. Is this by design???

Does it show the email you are expecting to see in the email logs? If so then it has been sent.

I did some more testing today.

With auto-confirm no-deposit checked, a new booking confirmation gets sent successfully to the client, BUT a corresponding new booking notification DOES NOT get sent to the admin, despite it being logged.

While reviewing that log entry email, if I click RESEND, it DOES get delivered to the admin.

To me it seems like there is some bug in Sytist that prevents the initial admin booking notification from being sent. I find it highly unlikely that my host is losing/filtering that one type of email, especially when it works during a "RESEND".

Could you please take a closer look into this? Thanks.

I did some tests.

I create 2 booking services: a standard booking service and a special event booking service.

On 2 different installations / sites, and which one is hosted on GoDaddy.

I received the admin "Booking Request Received" email for each booking service on both sites. I received the "Booking Request Received" every time.

It does not log the email as being sent until AFTER it has sent the email, so it is not like Sytist logged the email as being sent then sends it. It sends it then logs it.

I have no idea why you are not receiving the email but it is not a bug in Sytist.

Hmm. Ok. Thanks. And that was with auto-confirm checked, right?

One thing I have noticed on my installation, is that when I click confirm or send (to send an email), it takes a good 15-20 seconds before the green Sytist sent pop up appears. Is this normal?

Thanks again Tim.

"Auto Confirm With No Deposit" checked.

Sending / resending an email finished in about a second when I just tested it. I don't know why other than hosting it would take that long. But I just tested on my godaddy hosted and sent quickly.

John, I also use godaddy for hosting and they cannot find any issues "on their end."

Did they change your server recently? They moved us to a new server and it has created all sorts of issues, in particular the one you mentioned on the "sending" seeming to take a lot longer than usual. And, of course, the continued issue where emails are not being delivered to inboxes nor spam.

It's becoming increasingly frustrating.

Tim...do you know if this seems to only be an issue with godaddy hosting? I would switch hosting companies in a heartbeat if I knew that it would resolve these issues.

I had to whitelist all IP Addresses to get my emails to go through. Occasionally a new IP will pop up that gets blocked but I just keep an eye on it once a week or so.

Same thing happened to me. Asked Tim for helped, all looked good. Asked GoDaddy, no issues on their end. Went in a vicious circle for almost a year (wasn't a top priority), it hit me one day to run a trace on the emails being sent and I noticed it wasn't coming from an IP Address associated with my actual server (which is why they were being flagged). Added those to my whitelist and it hasn't happened since.
