Attention

If your Photo Cart is suddenly getting a 500 error or only displaying a blank page then you or your hosting company has updated the PHP (programming language) to PHP 7 which Photo Cart is not compatible with (and will not be compatible with) mainly because of the removal of the my_sql functions which are replaced with my_sqli functions.

You would need to have the PHP version downgraded to 5.6 in order for Photo Cart to work. If downgrading the PHP doesn't work then you may have to update Photo Cart to the last version of 7. Download Photo Cart 7 upgrade files. Upgrade instructions.

Photo Cart was retired in 2015. Check out Sytist.

Is Photocart Compatable With Php56-5.6.38?

Just upgraded some packages on my webserver and now Photocart is a blank page. I'm using php56-5.6.38, I know 7.x can cause this error. Does Photocart work with 5.6? Are there any other prerequisites required that I may be missing that would give me a blank page or Http 500 error?

It should be compatible with PHP 5.6. Perhaps the mysql_ extension isn't installed (mysqli_ might be but it needs mysql_). You can probably have your host check into it.

Thanks!
In my situation installing php56-extensions-1.0 resolved the problem.

Quick second question. I would like to use PHPMailer however when I install the package it keeps forcing me to upgrade to PHP 7 and Photocart I thought doesn't play well with PHP 7? phpmailer-5.2.26 and phpmailer6-6.0.5 are the only two options I see available.

Thanks!
Luke

Photo Cart is not compatible with PHP 7. I don't know about the PHPMailer, but if you have Sytist there is a PHPMailer folder in the sy-inc folder and maybe you can use those files.

I purchased Stylist but never installed it because the process looked like it would take a lot longer to upload images to our server. We use Dave's Uploader to upload images from our events. If we have 6 events per weekend with 30-50k images per event. Right now we can run 6 instances of Daves Freeloader to process the images and upload them to Photocart. Stylist appears to process the images server side. I figured it would take much longer and be more CPU intensive on our hosting server since it did not have 6 PC's splitting the processing load. Stylist looks amazing and has features we would love to use at some point though.
