Attention

If your Photo Cart is suddenly getting a 500 error or only displaying a blank page then you or your hosting company has updated the PHP (programming language) to PHP 7 which Photo Cart is not compatible with (and will not be compatible with) mainly because of the removal of the my_sql functions which are replaced with my_sqli functions.

You would need to have the PHP version downgraded to 5.6 in order for Photo Cart to work. If downgrading the PHP doesn't work then you may have to update Photo Cart to the last version of 7. Download Photo Cart 7 upgrade files. Upgrade instructions.

Photo Cart was retired in 2015. Check out Sytist.

Mysql Error After Moving Photo Cart To New Host

Hello!

I'm trying to set up Photo Cart on a new host. I've already installed Sytist for new orders, but would like to install PC on another subdomain for admins to view past orders, price lists, etc.

I've moved the files, and downloaded/uploaded the mySQL database. When I visit the subdomain on the new host for PC, I get the following error:

MYSQL ERROR: Unknown column 'icon_set' in 'field list'

Query: SELECT icon_set FROM WHERE style_id='9'

I found someone who had the same problem here: https://www.picturespro.com/support-forum/photo-cart/index.php?t=12302-error-message-after-switching-website-hosting-companies
but I'm using the same MySQL database and files as I was on the old host, so I don't know why that would be the problem.
I do have it on a different subdomain than it was on w the old host. Maybe something is wrong in the setup.php folder but everything looks good.

Here's the location line:
$setup['photo_cart_folder'] = ??;//?archives.davidlindner.com?; // this is the correct name of the folder all files are in

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!!!

Sounds like you might have mismatched Photo Cart files. Go to your Photo Cart admin page and see if it doesn't apply a update that might fix that error.

Thanks Tim. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to Photo Cart on the old host. I just have the files and MySQL databases downloaded. I don't think Photo Cart was in need of an update, but is there a way to see what version I was running from the files I downloaded? Any other ideas?

Thanks!

You should download the upgrade files and upload them according to the upgrade instructions then go to the admin after you have uploaded them.

It sounds like the files are one version and the database is another.

Thanks! I was able to access the admin page after upgrading. However, I had to reset my username and password as my old one wasn't working.

I'm looking at the admin page, and I don't see any orders or galleries that were created after October 2014. Any idea what happened? I'm pretty sure I uploaded the right MySQL database, it was the same name as the file referred to in the setup.php file. And I didn't see any other databases when I was logged into PHP My Admin on the old server. But I could have missed one, which would suck.

It sounds like an old version of that database for some reason, maybe from a backup.

Yeah, probably. Well I have one more MySQL database to upload and check, so I'll see soon. Thanks for the help!
