Attention

If your Photo Cart is suddenly getting a 500 error or only displaying a blank page then you or your hosting company has updated the PHP (programming language) to PHP 7 which Photo Cart is not compatible with (and will not be compatible with) mainly because of the removal of the my_sql functions which are replaced with my_sqli functions.

You would need to have the PHP version downgraded to 5.6 in order for Photo Cart to work. If downgrading the PHP doesn't work then you may have to update Photo Cart to the last version of 7. Download Photo Cart 7 upgrade files. Upgrade instructions.

Photo Cart was retired in 2015. Check out Sytist.

The web site hosting company has a "control panel" for you to log into your web hosting location they lease to you.
There is help when you log on as well as phone numbers for their support line to help you. You have to assign a
password on the other side of the fence (Host Site spot leased) after you log on. Then you insert this password
into the FTP (Client) you use (example: Filezilla - which is a great program even though the name sounds strange).
Then both sides of the fence are synced in to each other.
Some examples may be given on the control panel for values for the FTP to connect. Usual things required are:

This example is for a host company called 1and1.com.

(1) Host name: winshus64.1and1.com // winshus64. is added for a security connection
(2) User name: u89999786 // 1and1 assigns a unique name to your mount location
(3) Password: textpassword
(4) Port: 990 // security Port if needed
