Attention
If your Photo Cart is suddenly getting a 500 error or only displaying a blank page then you or your hosting company has updated the PHP (programming language) to PHP 7 which Photo Cart is not compatible with (and will not be compatible with) mainly because of the removal of the my_sql functions which are replaced with my_sqli functions.
You would need to have the PHP version downgraded to 5.6 in order for Photo Cart to work. If downgrading the PHP doesn't work then you may have to update Photo Cart to the last version of 7. Download Photo Cart 7 upgrade files. Upgrade instructions.
Photo Cart was retired in 2015. Check out Sytist.

Hello, I would like to remove or disable the auto email that the registrant receives when a new Photo Cart account is created. I can see where to edit the content of this email, but not where to stop it from sending. Could you point me to the right location please? I'm fine with a code change if that's what's involved.

I checked there before posting but didn't see any options for disabling the registration auto email (I'm in Photo Cart 7.1.0). Please advise.

Sorry, I misread the question. There is not an option to not send the customer an email when they create an account. If you want to disable the email that is sent to you there is an option in Settings -> Default Emails > Email me when new customer registers:

Photo Cart admin, Customize -> Text & Language.
Click "Click here to view and edit all fields in the text database."
Search the page (CTRL+F) for that text.
