Attention

If your Photo Cart is suddenly getting a 500 error or only displaying a blank page then you or your hosting company has updated the PHP (programming language) to PHP 7 which Photo Cart is not compatible with (and will not be compatible with) mainly because of the removal of the my_sql functions which are replaced with my_sqli functions.

You would need to have the PHP version downgraded to 5.6 in order for Photo Cart to work. If downgrading the PHP doesn't work then you may have to update Photo Cart to the last version of 7. Download Photo Cart 7 upgrade files. Upgrade instructions.

Photo Cart was retired in 2015. Check out Sytist.

Dave's Uploader Suddenly Very Slow

Dave's Uploader is taking 30 sec's to upload a 300K file.

No settings have been changed. I've checked my internet speed, it's still fast and fine with everything except Dave's Uploader. I was loading multiple events a week for years with no problem and now it's suddenly taking 2 hours to load a wedding.

Check your folders for PSD and TIF files.

lol... no, that's not it. These are .jpg's, less than 400k each. I am currently uploading a wedding and have uploaded 375 images in 1:16.

This has happened with multiple uploads and galleries.

Okay, looking at the speeds, it's all over the place. I turned off my auto backup and that seems to have helped. Still averaging 9-15 secs on a 350K file.

Question: I have a big drive on my comp and it's a little bloated. Is the uploader doing processing before upload? If so, could a slow disk access speed be the culprit?

It could be your connection speed changing.

Kids using internet for PS4 will do it.
Next one i hate to mention. My uploads slowed and quit working a few days before old war horse computer died.

You may want to check on your server to see if it maxed out CPU, RAM, etc. A reboot couldn't hurt (unless of course it's shared hosting, nothing you can do)

you can check your hard drive performance with this:

Internet connection speed at:
http://www.speedtest.net

And constantly check your internet connection:
