Attention
If your Photo Cart is suddenly getting a 500 error or only displaying a blank page then you or your hosting company has updated the PHP (programming language) to PHP 7 which Photo Cart is not compatible with (and will not be compatible with) mainly because of the removal of the my_sql functions which are replaced with my_sqli functions.
You would need to have the PHP version downgraded to 5.6 in order for Photo Cart to work. If downgrading the PHP doesn't work then you may have to update Photo Cart to the last version of 7. Download Photo Cart 7 upgrade files. Upgrade instructions.

When I add images to my photo cart uploader it is suddenly telling me "Unable to open file, it may be in an invalid format." I haven't had this problem before and now I'm having it on two different computers. Any help?

Sounds like some sort of permission issues or you are trying to upload from an external hard drive.

We are uploading from an external drive but we have always done it that way and currently have no problem doing it on a different computer. It works on one computer but not on the other two. And if it's a permission issue, how do I fix that?

I really don't know but maybe you need to run the uploader as an administrator or something? Or copy the photos to your hard drive? It has been many years since the old Photo Cart uploader was offered.
