Attention

If your Photo Cart is suddenly getting a 500 error or only displaying a blank page then you or your hosting company has updated the PHP (programming language) to PHP 7 which Photo Cart is not compatible with (and will not be compatible with) mainly because of the removal of the my_sql functions which are replaced with my_sqli functions.

You would need to have the PHP version downgraded to 5.6 in order for Photo Cart to work. If downgrading the PHP doesn't work then you may have to update Photo Cart to the last version of 7. Download Photo Cart 7 upgrade files. Upgrade instructions.

Photo Cart was retired in 2015. Check out Sytist.

Payment Type Not Showing

Hoping someone can help. On my site there are only two options for purchasing a photo: Direct Bank Deposit and Paypal. Typically, when an order is received, the payment type is shown next to the amount in the Orders section. Two days ago I received an order, however, it is blank under the payment type and I can find no record of the payment in my accounts. Any ideas on how a customer could place an order without specifying the payment type? I have emailed the customer requesting payment details but have not had a reply as yet.

They probably "Placed" the order but haven't actually paid for it yet ... because the orders are first "placed" then "paid" ... so it is possible to have unpaid orders.

Unfortunately the Order Payment Status states the order is complete. Wouldn't that mean that some sort of payment has been made? I hope to contact the client tomorrow.

Ok, I'm not sure what has happened (first time this has happened) but my customer said she wasn't taken to the payment section of the website but received a message that said she would receive an email to proceed. After speaking with me, she went back into her shopping cart but it is empty, even though she has a registered account. My concern is why it is showing as a completed order when she has not paid. Please see the attached screen grabs.

Which payment option did she choose?

The customer did not receive the payment option. She followed the usual process, however, when she was in the Checkout she received the message that she would receive an email confirming her order. When she reordered (less photos I might add, literally halved her order) the same process took her straight to payments as per usual and the order came through. I have no idea what happened. Disappointed to have lost sales.

Not being prompt for a payment option would only happen if the order total was zero (like an account credit was used). Were there any credits, coupons or print credits used on this order?

Also what version of Sytist are you running?

There was no coupon, or credits. It is the latest version of Sytist (only downloaded a month ago).

If you like you can email me a link to your Sytist admin with the username and password and also your hosting control panel link with username and password (so I can look at the database) and I can look into it further.

My mistake. Even though I only recently bought and installed Sytist, it is version 0.8.1. Will email details shortly.
