Attention

If your Photo Cart is suddenly getting a 500 error or only displaying a blank page then you or your hosting company has updated the PHP (programming language) to PHP 7 which Photo Cart is not compatible with (and will not be compatible with) mainly because of the removal of the my_sql functions which are replaced with my_sqli functions.

You would need to have the PHP version downgraded to 5.6 in order for Photo Cart to work. If downgrading the PHP doesn't work then you may have to update Photo Cart to the last version of 7. Download Photo Cart 7 upgrade files. Upgrade instructions.

Photo Cart was retired in 2015. Check out Sytist.

Viewing Photos - How To Change The Size Of Them

Ok.. honestly I do not change much in photocart. I liked it just the way it was set up and I dont have time to go in and customize much. After upgrading to the last available upgrade, I am still not happy at the photo viewing end of it compared to the previous version. My customers dont like it either. You used to be able to click on a thumbnail and view it larger, then click it again for an even larger version. Now it "zooms" inside the photo. Anyways, my question is, after clicking on a thumbnail photo to view a specific photo, how do I make it so that photo is bigger on the screen? Is it possible to make it bigger for customers to view?
I'm not good at changing settings in my photocart, so if you have helpful suggestions, please give me step by step on where to go and what settings to change. I dont want to screw things up, so am afraid to do much without guidance. My photocart site is http://www.eyeofthehorsephotography.com/photocart/

?
You can change the default photo sizes that are created in Settings > Gallery & Image Defaults.

Set the display size to 900 max width / height and zoom photos around 1400 max width / height.

Changing these setting won't effect existing photos, only new ones uploaded after you have made the changes.

thank you Tim. And will there be anything in Dave's Uploader that I have to change after making that change to the Gallery & Image Defaults?

Back when I purchased Photo Cart, I was sold on it just because it said that no knowledge of html and ftp were needed to use it and I am thankful the default settings are pretty good right where they were set, but I would like customers to view a larger version of their photos. :) Thanks again Tim and Dave's Uploader for making a terrific programs that work hand in hand for photographers!

You may have to change the photo size settings in Dave's Uploader if the default sizes are saved in there. Should be in one of the screens in Dave's Uploader.

Thank you

Is there an easy way to resize the current galleries?

Actually I guess I should also ask if there is any way to resize current galleries?

When viewing a gallery in the admin, under the More tab there is an option to regenerate thumbnail and display photos.

I was able to increase the size of the thumbnails...but the display images don't change size at all.

Is there a special trick I'm missing? or am I limited by the size of my original display image.

Thanks for your help.

Having same issue as Richard on trying to regenerate the Existing galleries' display images. I did made sure both boxes were checked when doing the regenerating and even tried checking only the display image box. No problems with the Newly uploaded galleries though! thanks Tim!

When regenerating a display image, if you don't have the original or zoom photos (options to create those when uploading), then it doesn't have a photo file to create the new display photo. Also, if the zoom or original photo is smaller than what you are trying to resize to, then it can't regenerate the display image.
