4.1 Bridal / baby registry
A registry system where customers can create a registry and have other basically
put money into their account. The registry purchases are put into the credit system.
Packages updates and additions
Please note that "Print Packages” are now called "Traditional" and "Digital packages”
are now called "Custom Packages".
Add options for Custom Packages for things just as collages, posters, books,
etc… These options are displayed to a customer for the whole custom package. You
can ask "what size”, "what color”, "what style”, "what name”, or whatever you
want.
One click "Add to package” for custom packages right from the view image page.
No more back and forth.
Packages now have a cleaner interface on the customer side which should make
it easier to display the packages and any options.
Offer percentage discount of a la carte pricing with purchase of package
The option to apply a discount to standard prints with purchase of package. In
the package you can enter in an a la cart discount if the package is purchased.
Quick Account
There is a new Quick Account feature where a customer can create an account with
just a name, email address and password.
Checkout account completion
Photo Cart will now force completion of account information at checkout if it
is not complete.
Additional shipping charges on a per item basis
You can add additional shipping charges per item (sizes, packages, gallery items,
accessory store) that is added to the total shipping charge.
To tax or not to tax
Select to tax or not tax sizes & prices, packages, etc...
How do you plan to pay?
You can create an independent option during the checkout process asking the customer
how they plan to pay.
Admin Calendar system
Now Photo Cart has an admin calendar system where you can add dates for yourself
and also relevant dates for your customers.

You can close the store if you need to make major changes or for whatever reason
and display a custom closed message.
Manage your menu links
New way to edit, change, disable and add menu links to the Photo Cart main menu.
Edit Photo Cart text directly from the pages
Now you can edit the majority of the text in Photo Cart right from the customer
side.
You haven’t ordered enough
You can set a minimum order amount for your Photo Cart that the customer must
order to process to checkout.
When was that customer last here?
Photo Cart will tell you when a customer was last active on the website and you
can sort customers in the admin by last active date.
Create custom order statuses
Need more than open and closed for orders? Now you can create your own custom
order statuses to place your orders in.
Where to tax
You can select to either tax on the customers ship to address or customer’s address
on the account.
Disable shipping on a per item and per gallery basis
If you don’t want any shipping options on a certain gallery and you select that
option and the customer will only have the pick up option. Also, you can mark
certain items if they are purchased, then it will disable shipping options.
Manually create invoices and send to customer from the admin
Now you can create a line item invoice in the admin and email it to the customer.
Might be used for sitting fees, custom work, deposits, etc…
New image display & watermarking system
I have developed a new way that images are displayed and watermarked.
The images will now be watermarked using a transparent png file on the fly. You
can create your own png watermark files and upload them from the admin. This gives
you a lot more control on the watermarking.
You can also add your logo or additional watermarking to the image. With both,
you can select the location of where they appear.
Watermark thumbnails
There is also a way to watermark thumbnails also using the same method as above
but using it’s own watermarking file.
Also thumbnails use a new encrypting method to where the file name is not in
the source code.
Zoom images
Now zoom images are displayed on the page instead of a new window. Also you can
allow or not allow customers to select next and previous while viewing the zoom
image.
New black & white, sepia tone selections.
Now coloring options are part of the price group. You can select which coloring
options to offer with a price group and even create your own (blue tint, green
tine, etc)
When the customer selects that color option, the image will automatically see
a preview of it. Also, the selected is what is added to the cart. So if they are
viewing a sepia tone, then sepia tone option is added to cart.
Auto cropping previews
Instead of the "crop previews”, now when someone selected an 8X10 (and you have
the cropping option turned on for that 8x10) the image will automatically crop
to an 8X10. Also if they select a black & white in 8X10, then they will see
a 8X10 crop in black & white.
This only automatically works with the drop down menu add to cart form. In the
"list” add to cart form there are preview crop options under each size.
Add to cart forms
There are 2 types of add to cart forms. 1) Drop down menu where the sizes are
listed in a drop down menu and 2) The list form where it lists out each size with
a quantity box next to each one.
Now you can select which add to cart form based on price group.
You can disable the notes section under the add to cart form.
Upload category thumbnails
You can optionally upload thumbnail images for categories.
Customer categories
Now you are able to create categories for your customer and sort and export customer
by these categories.
Customer Price Group
Assign a Price group to a customer ... overrides gallery price group.
Customers carts
Now view what’s in your customers cart from the admin.
Downloadable files
You can turn off the print sizes dimensions that shows when offering downloadable
files on the view image page.
Downloadable images purchases are now subject to tax in the size / price setting.
Customers viewing favorites
Now when a customer views images from their favorites, navigation is for favorites
instead of the gallery the favorites are in … meaning when they click next, it’s
the next favorite.
Date & time adjustments
You can change the date & time format displayed and also adjust any time
difference between your current time and server time.
Orders images & prints
Orders will show you how many images and how many prints are on the order. Also
images on orders now show total path of gallery.
Order work list that just lists out the images and sizes with no thumbnails to
either print and work from your check checkboxes as you go. Also you can export
text file of the images (this should work with breeze browsers but I don’t have
it so haven’t tested it)
Subgalleries
Now when you create subgalleries, you can select a different price group if needed.
Also you can create unlimited subgalleries in subgalleries.
Gallery splash page
There is now an option to create a splash page for galleries. The splash page
is a page before the customer sees the thumbnails. You can either use the Photo
Cart slideshow or use your own HTML or both.
If you use the Photo Cart slideshow, you can select which images to display and
after the last image the image (and music if music is used) will fade out and
direct to the gallery.
Galleries and main page gallery paging
There is not a limit on the home page for galleries any more. It uses a paging
system where they can click next, previous, etc…

You can now add credits to a customer’s account. Example: you add a $50 credit
Mrs. Jones’ account, she places an order for $150, her total due will be $100.
New shipping options
You now have the ability to create shipping charts and add additional shipping
options. For example, order total between 0-$50, charge $4.95 … between $50 -
100 charge $7.95 and so on. Also, you can create standard, express, or whatever.
The "original” add to cart form works again
This is the one where it lists the size options with a quantity box next to each.
Send email to customer when payment manually applied to order
You have the option to send an email to the customer when you manually enter
in the order information.
Send email to customer when shipping information is entered.
You have the option to send an email to them when you enter in shipping information.
You can also close the order in the same step.
Ship to address when customer orders
Now the customer can enter in a different shipping address when they place an
order. I will make this optional later!

I have integrated several new payment gateways. Usaepay.com, securepay.com, PayPal
Website Payments Pro. Also, there is a standard form integrated where you can

New way payment options are displayed to the customer after they place and order
and view an order invoice.
The whole payment section has been revamped and the way the payment options are
offered to the customer. It is much cleaner and less confusing. Click here for a sample
In the new payment options, there is also a section to tell the customer they
can mail a check or money order and where you can enter in your address and information.
If you offer the option for your customers to send in a check, be sure you turn
it ON in the Settings > Payment Options section.
Disable direct access to expired or inactive galleries .
Before if a customer entered in an access code or had a gallery bookmarked that
expired or set to inactive, they could still access it. They can’t now.
Customer favorites show how many they have in favorites.
Their favorites will show a total now. Also, total favorites for a customer is
also shown in the admin.
Return to correct gallery page from an image
if image is on page 2 of a gallery, now when they click to return to the gallery,
they will go to page 2 instead of always going to page one.
Early Bird Discount Additions
Made early bird discount through the last date instead of up to the last date.
You can now offer a flat dollar amount instead of percentage to early bird discount
You can now allow or disallow a customer to use coupon plus early bird discount Turn off watermark on a gallery
You can now turn off watermarking on a per gallery basis. The option is when
you create or edit a gallery.
VAT (value added tax)
VAT tax for UK and other countries that require to collect VAT tax. Information
on this is in the tax & countries sections.
FTP Process
FTP process now counts how many images processed.
Added a feature in the FTP process to help reduce load on the server during processing.
Some hosts are now restricting CPU usage and the FTP process of a lot of images
can increase the CPU usage. The process takes a little longer, but doesn’t put
as much strain on the server

Added currency sign to prices
Finish text fields in the accessory store. Text fields in the accessory store now allows you to collect information that
the customer would need to input. For example: baseball carts, you can now ask
for name, number, team, etc…. Crop Previews
3.8 New flash files compatible with flash player 9 (As explained above) New options on how your Photo Cart works Edit this in the "Settings > Basic Settings” Now you have the options: Must be logged in to add to cart, but not to view images This is how it is now. Must be logged in to add to cart AND view images Selecting this option will require anyone coming to your Photo Cart to be registered and logged in. This option also shows a new home page and does not list any galleries to anyone not logged in. Edit this in the "Settings > Website texts & pages > Home Page” Can add to cart & view images without logging in This option will allow the customers to view galleries & add to cart without having to create an account first. The will be prompt at checkout to log in or create an account. Remember me feature This will set a cookie when a customer logs in to automatically log them in on each visit (on the same computer). New image comparison feature. This option allows the customer to do a side-by-side comparison of multiple images. There are two ways to do this: 1) Clicking "Hold to compare” under images, then clicking the comparison link in the menu. 2) Select checkboxes in their "My Favorites” of the images they want to compare. Search galleries The customer can now search galleries by date, event name, or by gallery ID. Added image options to package images. You can now offer images options to package images, just like regular images for sale, such as B&W, sepia tone, etc … and can even work in additional charges if needed. The option to list packages on the view image page. Edit this in the "Settings > Gallery & Image Layout > (list packages or use link to packages)” You can now actually list your available packages right on the view image page or just a link to the list. This really depends on how many packages you offer. Changed up packages so if the customer has more than one package in their cart, they will view them separately via a dropdown menu. This makes it easier for the customer to view the packages in their cart and add images if purchasing more than one package at a time. Added image names to order where galleries are deleted. An additional field was added to the orders to record the actual file name of images to show on the order incase the gallery was deleted. (only to order after the 3.8 upgrade.) Database backup tool (beta) At the bottom of the Photo Cart admin, there is a new "Backup database” link. On that page, there is a button that you can click that will create a backup of your database and email it to you. It is good to backup your database at least once a week or before any upgrades. I don’t know of there is any size limitations at this time. My testing has worked fine, but there may be time out restrictions depending on the size of the database. You can now edit the default text the customer uses to invite family & friends. Edit this in the "Settings > Default emails” This can be edited in the admin in the Default emails section. You can turn off or on gallery count displayed next to categories. Edit this in the "Settings > Gallery & Image Layout” Fixed java script error There was an error that would display after 6 seconds in IE. Fix an issue where non-US Paypal accounts not having orders automatically updating when paid via Paypal. 3.7 The crop preview feature allows the customer to view the images center cropped
based on the sizes you offer.
To implement the crop previews, you will need to edit your sizes in the size
& price groups. When you edit the size, toward the bottom you will see a radio
button to allow or not allow preview of that size, then the dimensions of the
crop preview.
This feature allows the customer to enlarge the image to see more detail. The
larger image is created on the upload process, so any galleries created before
the 3.7.release will not have the zoom feature available.
The Early Bird discount is a one setting discount you can offer the customers.
(In the sizes & prices section.) For example: Order images in this gallery
before (14 days of gallery date) and receive a 10% discount.
You can set how many days to offer this discount and how much the discount is.
Then the discount is based on the date of the gallery, and when creating or editing
a gallery you can select to offer this discount or not.
