Upgrading With Screen Shots

1) Unzip the upgrade zip file to your computer.

Be sure when you unzip it keeps the folder structure.

2) FTP into your website and navigate to your Photo Cart folder.

In your FTP program, the files on your computer are on the "Local site" side. There you will navigate to the folder where you unzipped the Photo Cart upgrade files.

In the screen shots, Files inside the photocart folder are the ones you unzipped from the upgrade files.

3) Delete the "admin" folder and all of the contents.

This is important because older files may interfere with newer ones. Don't worry, you won't lose any data deleting the admin folder.

4) Select all files and folders from the photocart folder in the unzipped files

(with the exception of the accessories folder, see the bottom of this page if you have the accessory store) and upload to your Photo Cart folder on your website, overwriting any existing files and folders.

Select to overwrite existing files.

If upgrading from version Photo Cart version 4.1

After the files have completed uploading, navigate to the upgrade.php file in the Photo Cart folder.

Example: http://www.your-web-site.com/photocart/upgrade.php

(use your website name and the folder name your Photo Cart is in).

On that page there will be a button to click. There will be 3 total, one after the other. Click on step 1, then step 2, then step 3.

5) Visit any page in the admin and that will complete the upgrade.

Accessory Store Users

Upload the FILES in the accessories folder into the accessories folder inside your Photo Cart folder overwriting the existing ones. Do not just upload the folder overwriting the existing one. This may cause you to loose the accessory store item images.

When you have completed the upgrade, please see the After you have upgraded section.
