Is there some way for customers to visually indicate cropping preferences. Or is there even just some setting that will show what the image looks like with a default 8x10 and/or 5x7 crop?

In looking at other sites like MorePhotos.com the customer can move the crop around on the image and the final crop shows up on the customer's order.

There is no custom cropping support but the default (center) crop is shown "live" when a given size is clicked in the "Add images to cart" section.

This one has been on my wish list for quite a while.

The last answer I heard was "it would be too hard."

I don't see default live crop showing up after choosing a shot. Do you have to set something to have it do this?

You must have:

Settings > Gallery & View Image Layout > Select how to display images

set to:

Encrypting file script - recommended

Then, on the Display image view page just click a given size (i.e. 4x6, 5x7, 8x10) and the Display image will adjust to show the image as 4x6, 5x7 or 8x10 as appropriate.

Thanks but I don't see the Display image view page when I log in as a customer or through the admin interface. So far we only have packages set up with 3 or 4 standard units in each package. I can select an image for each unit but don't see the page you referenced. Is that only available if you set it up to sell a la carte prints?

The "Display Image view page" is what you see when you click a Thumbnail (sometimes referred to as the "cart page").

Right now if I am logged into our site as a customer I cannot find these resized and cropped images when picking a print size. Maybe if you logged in as a customer you might be able to tell me where they SHOULD be??

The site is www.natporder.com

And the access code for one of the galleries is 232072db

Many thanks in advance if you can help me figure this out. This would not be the ideal cropping solution but much better than not having anything as it is now.

Thanks again.

Gonzo, can you provide an email address and password to use? You force registration.

But, just to verify, when you edit your ala carte items, there is an option to "ENABLE CROP PREVIEW" along with the size dimensions -- it won't show cropped unless you have that option set to YES.

You see this happen as you select different sizes from the ala carte menu.

Thanks Dave. I'll check out the ala carte thing. Don't think I'm set up for ala carte pricing - just packages.

Here's some login information you can use:
gman@ymail.com

Thanks for all the help.
